A peak at the baby quilt

So this is the format I finally decided on - it still needs to have the border added, so not quite finished yet.

Redecorating in my mind

I am have once again been redecorating my house in my head - well with the help of CSN Stores.

The furniture choices they have are amazing. I've been looking at leather sofa & loveseat sets, wood entertainment centres and modern rugs.

I guess the only real downfall of buying from them would be if I had to return something, since they are in the U.S. Not sure how that would work. But I am enjoying window shopping online :)

Baby Quilt again - Need opinions ASAP

Ok so this is the layout of the baby quilt. Should I use all the paisley blocks as in the first pic or include the green blocks as shown in the 2nd pic.

Please note that there will be a 4 inch border around the entire thing using the green alphabet fabric and then bound in purple.

I need to start sewing these together tomorrow so would really appreciate everyones input ASAP.

Thanks!

Baby Quilt take 2

So I flubbed up the quilt a little bit. I under-estimated the size of the finished blocks. Instead of the 8 inches I thought they would be, they are 11 inches. I only added one side of the border...so...

If I continue this way the quilt will be too big for the backing. So instead of having 4 blocks wide by 6 blocks long, I will make it 3x5 blocks. These blocks are to be mixed with solid fabric blocks, so I end up with 5 extra blocks. I'll have to think about what I can make with those. I'm thinking maybe a lightweight quilt for the stroller.

So here are the next set of blocks. I think I will make the quilt using only these blocks and save the green ones I made first for the stroller quilt.

Start of next baby quilt

Well I told you awhile back that my nephew's girlfriend is expecting. She is due mid-March I believe.
Well I just found out her baby shower is Feb 13th - so that gives me approximately 4 weeks to get this quilt done. No problem.

I got started today - I have 4 of the 12 house blocks made. Then I will have to cut out another 12 squares of fabric and start sewing them together. Then it needs a border. Next comes sandwiching the quilt and finally adding the binding. No problem at all :)

Here are the 4 house blocks I've done. The house is a fabric, I didn't piece it. 8 More of these with a different border fabric to go.

I included 2 photos because one shows the detail better and the other shows the colour better, however, the main colour is a florescent lime green - but it doesn't show up that way in the pics.

I am using the same fabric I did for THIS baby quilt last year. I have enough for the quilt top - I purchased new fabric for the backing.

More Artist Trading Cards

I am posting these for my friend Kate - she and I were discussing ATCs today and I realized I have a bunch that I have never posted.

All of these were made last fall/winter. Once I start and then finish this baby quilt, I will get back into making ATCs again.

Grungy Gretchen Flip-Thru

This is a flip-through of a recently completed journal of mine. I call it GG (grungy Gretchen), it is so far from my usual style but I enjoy...
